Sick again

Today mom came ad picked me up from kindergarten because I have a small fever. Miss Elena called my mom because I had been crying, and when they measured my temperature I had 38.1 degrees.

I don't know what I have, but I think it is another cold. On top of that I am also getting another tooth: the lower left canine. I already have the canines in my upper mouth. In total I now have 15.

Saint Nicholas

Because I've been a good girl all year, St Nicholas was also very generous - this morning my boots were filled with dried fruits and nuts that I love. He also left me lots of chocolate at the kindergarten, but daddy will take care of that ;)
So I've had a good start into the holiday season so far. More to come! :)

Middle ear infection

For the past week I have been sick with a middle ear infection. It started with me getting a high fever on the weekend. Mom and dad thought I was getting another cold, and gave me some baby ibuprofen to knock the fever down and ease any pain I might have. It only helped a bit though, then the fever went back up.  Monday the pediatrician came to see me and said it was an ear infection together with a throat infection. I got antibiotics and other things to help me feel better. Getting my nose sucked clean is the worst I know, closely followed by drops in my ears.  But I must admit that it feels a lot better afterwards.
Today, Saturday, is the first day I feel really well,  and we went to the new mall. I got some new shoes to use at the kindergarten, but I got to wear them at the mall too, instead of my boots. I'm really good at walking now,  and even try running a bit sometimes. I loooove climbing, and using my arms and legs to get up on furniture and at the playground. Dad helped me to get onto this "bench", though, as it was a bit strange.

Smiiiiiiiiile!

Yes, I've reached that age - when I know how to get my cute on every time someone picks up a camera.

Halloween II

Later in the day a theater group came and performed for us at the kindergarten. I thought that was very interesting!

Happy Halloween!

Here I am with my kindergarten teacher on Halloween morning.

Fittingly, I am dressed as a little devil ;)

Up on the hill

Yesterday we went to a new mall that opened in Bucharest. It was very crowded and otherwise unimpressive...  except their 3rd floor terrace.
It's huge, complete with grassy hills and playgrounds,  which dad and I took full advantage of :)

Village museum

Last Saturday dad, mum and I went to the Bucharest village museum. We were invited by one of my parents' friends, who was hosting  a Danish couple for the week. She thought they would appreciate some Danish hospitality, not just Romanian for a change.

While the adults chatted away and took photos, I ran around, fascinated by all the leaves and the flowers and twigs and chestnuts around :)

Here are two of the photos mum took:

Kindergarten 2

This kindergarten thing is still not my favourite thing, but we do get to play with colours and other funny things. I think I will get used to it fairly soon.

Kindergarten

Well the day has come that I started kindergarten.

My mum and dad took me there for the first time last week and the results have been mixed on my part. On the one hand, I like being around kids and participate in the activities there. On the other hand, I cry every time I arrive and leave and in between. The teachers have told my parents there is a normal adjustment period to be expected, usually around a month, and things have progressed nicely so far. But it's still difficult being away from my parents so long. I go there Monday to Friday, usually between 9am and 4:30-5pm.

Here are a couple of photos of the house the kindergarten is in. My group consists of 10 kids under 3 years old, but there are also older children there. How well I eat, sleep and play is monitored daily and my parents can see the chart when they pick me up. So far the verdict is that I'm brave and there is clear progress since last week.

I've also been a little bit sick the past couple of weeks. Just a head cold that bothered me because I couldn't breathe (and therefore sleep) very well. I'm now better and my appetite is returning - I'm especially interested in daddy's food, as you can see below :)

Who let the dogs out?

I am becoming a master of this "walking" thing. When mum or dad take me to the park, I like to walk around and smell the flowers, or chase after the birds. I am a great nature lover. The other day I saw some stray dogs lying nearby, and I wanted to go to them and play a bit. My dad didn't think that was a good idea, so he kept coming after me. He recorded it all with his phone:

Botanical Garden Bucharest

I am a big fan of flowers and I MUST smell each and every one I get near. Today my parents took me to the Botanical Garden in Bucharest, and I almost fainted with excitement. There were so many flowers of different kinds, I didn't know which one to smell first!

Here are a few snapshots from the trip.

Bulgarian holiday

Last week mum, dad and I went to the Bulgarian resort Obzor for my first holiday by the sea. I really liked playing in the sand (duh!) and particularly the pool. I wasn't a fan of the waves in the sea, but I loved spending hours in the pool. I also ate well, slept very well and walked around the resort. Here are some photos for my fans:

This video is a couple of weeks old, but I wanted you all to see it anyway. :)

Who wants sand cake?

Well,  I am still not walking on my own, but I get better and better. Now I only need to hold on with one hand and I can stand unsupported for up to 15 seconds.

My cousins

I've been on a great trip to Denmark, where I got to meet my dad's closest family: His parents and his siblings and his nephews and niece. I liked meeting the kids a lot. We really hit it off even if we couldn't speak with eachother - mostly because I can't speak yet. :D

Here is a picture where we all look almost our best. It is hard to get everyone to sit still and look at the camera at the same time.

Small update

Now I have 6 teeth. The 2 next ones have broken through on each side of the front teeth in the upper mouth. It was a few rough days with irritation and crankiness, but it is more or less over now, and I am happy again.
Summer has come to Bucharest, and mum is taking me out on 2 walks every day. One in the morning and one in the early evening when it is not too hot. Sometimes dad will take me for the evening walk instead of mum.

I love standing up and can pull myself onto my feet almost anywhere. Sometimes it can be a bit hard to get back down on my knees, but I am getting better at it.

Here are a couple of pictures taken outside our front door to the block. Dad and I were just coming back from an evening walk.

I am looking very much forward to the upcoming trip to Denmark next week. I hope I will not be too scared of the plane and all the new activities. Luckily mum and dad are not scared, so I will probably stay calm too.
