4 teeth and sleeping positions

I have 4 teeth now. The fourth one came pretty soon after the third, so I've had it for a while. I feel so old... there are only 3 days until I turn 11 months... how time flies!

One day takes the next, and even though it sometimes seems like they are all the same, they are actually rather different. Each day I learn something new. The latest new thing I am doing is placing objects inside other objects, and figuring our how things work in combination. Some weeks ago I got a box of plastic blocks, that I am supposed to put into the box through different shaped holes in the lid. In the beginning I didn't understand that at all, but now I am starting to get the hang of it. With a little bit of help, I manage to put all the blocks in the right holes. Some of them, like the green circle shape, I remember better, because it goes in the corner hole.. and the shape is rather unique. All the other blocks are with straight edges, like square, triangle and star.

I am still not able to stand up by my own power at the coffee table, but when mom or dad lie on the floor with me, I can pull myself up using their body and stand next to them. I think I will master the table too soon... I just need to figure out exactly which muscles to activate to get the last bit of the way from my knees to my feet.

My vocal skills are getting more advanced too. Although I seem to have forgotten how to say "mooh" for the cow, I am making a lot of other noises. Not really on command, but still... :) Often I will sit and play and talk to myself in a quiet voice, making more and more advanced sounds. Mom and dad think it sounds like I am talking, but in a language only I understand... I am also understanding much more of what I am told and asked, and I will even carry out some simple commands if I feel like it.

I am super good at crawling now, and more and more often I follow mom and dad around the house. They also carry me less now... *sigh* - I guess being auto-mobile has its drawbacks too. But, oh well, at least now I go where I want to go.

I am sleeping on my stomach now a lot. Some nights I will toss and turn many times in bed before I find the position that finally makes me fall properly asleep. The optimal position doesn't always appear to the onlooker as being very comfortable, but take my word for it... it really is! Look at this one, for example:

Wonderful!

3 teeth and swinging

Hi!

Now I can proudly say that I have 3 teeth. The first of my upper front teeth has broken through, and the other one is very close to doing the same. I have been a bit more sleepy the last days - it takes some energy to grow teeth like that...

Last week you saw a picture of me on the swingset in the park, and now dad has taken me there again and made a little video. I just love that swing and giggle when I am pushed back and forth. Daddy makes some strange sounds through, but I guess I will just have to accept that and enjoy the ride! :-)

10 months and counting

It has been some weeks since I last added something to my blog. Back then I was proud to show off my first tooth. In the meantime I have another one next to the first, so now I can really smile a toothy smile. :-D

I am also becoming much more mobile lately. I have finally learned how to crawl forward and I can now basically move to where I want. I am not exactly a professional crawler yet, but I do get around, testing mom and dad's nerves, when I get to the drawers or closets and open them. They said something about putting locks on them, but I am sure I will figure out how to get around that.... hehehe! I can also "walk" a little bit, when mom or dad is holding me by the hands, but it is not really my favourite thing.

Today mom took me to the park, and for the first time ever, I tried the swings. I loved it - it is soooo much fun, and when mom wanted to move on, I got very upset. I could have stayed there all day. Or at least until I got too hungry...
